Graphenstone
Create a healthier home
Graphenstone is the ultimate ecological range of products, composed of natural elements that purify the air we breathe inside our homes. It is suitable for people suffering from chemical intolerance, recommended for indoor enclosures, hospitals, nurseries, retirement homes, hotels, environments or rooms for infants and children.
The health benefits resulting from the use of Graphenstone materials for individuals living in eco- sustainable homes are: Improves air quality of indoor environments, limits pathogens derived from sick building syndrome (sBs), prevents mould growth, fungi and bacteria, guarantees safe domestic environments and increases comfort and quality of life.

RESISTANT & DURABLE
Thanks to graphene, our products are more resistant and durable.
Graphenstone differs from other mineral paints mainly in its improvement in adhesion, washability, flexibility, durability and performance. All this thanks to the incorporation of graphene technology. You get the same properties as a plastic paint in a natural paint. Having spent years working as CTO in a successful Spanish coatings firm, Antonio began his new enterprise, IEdiSA, in 2009. This became the foundation for Graphenstone. In his role as President of Graphenstone, Antonio has committed himself tirelessly to the development and creation of the most innovative and ground breaking line of natural paints and mortars using lime from the highest quality local sources. This unique lime is created through using a 100% natural and environmentally friendly production cycle. Thus, a tradition which had almost been forgotten has been brought back onto the market.
Our contribution to the building of healthier and sustainable homes.
The next step. After generating new ecological, natural and sustainable coatings with a lime base, Antonio León took the process a step further by using the innovative measure of adding graphene to the formula. The objective behind the utilisation of graphene was to enhance the products properties by improving resistance, flexibility and conductivity while maintaining its natural qualities.
Perseverance was key. After a year of research at the University of Seville and numerous unsuccessful attempts, the Antonio achieved his goal which was to develop a graphene polymer able to improve the material qualities with outstanding results.
The very first range of paints and coatings with graphene technology. Graphenstone was created in November 2013. Antonio’s dream came true when he created a worldwide groundbreaking eco-friendly product with exceptional qualities. Since the production of our initial range of paints and coatings, we have continued to work diligently creating ever more healthy and sustainable coatings for all manner of buildings.

What is the difference between Graphenstone paint and synthetic paints?
Synthetic paints are formed with aqueous emulsions of resins or plastic materials and use petroleum-based materials in their composition. During their application and drying process, these paints give off VOC (Volatile Organic Compounds) and formaldehyde, all of which are carcinogenic substances. In addition, synthetic paints are not permeable, thereby promoting the formation of condensation and mould.
At Graphenstone we formulate our products based on lime. A natural and organic product, free of VOCs and formaldehyde, breathable and with a high pH, which prevents the appearance of mould and fungus.
How is Graphenstone® different from a synthetic paint?
Graphenstone® differs from synthetic paints in water vapour permeability. Thanks to this property the accumulation of water in the building is avoided. These damps degrade the paint in the form of blistering and / or breakage impacting in the aesthetics of the building. High breathability and high pH helps to naturally prevent the growth of fungi, bacteria and moulds, which cause allergies and respiratory problems in health.
Also due to its mineral character, it is resistant to fire, inert to the environment and can be reused.
Graphenstone® lime-based products absorb CO2 from the air during the drying process. Specifically, three 15-liter pots absorb 14.40 kg of CO2, the same amount as an adult tree during one year!
In addition, it has a high degree of solar reflectance and thermal emittance, due to the high quality of lime. These two factors contribute to energy efficiency.

How does Graphenstone differ from other lime paints?
The lime used in our paints and coatings is produced in millennial wood ovens, avoiding the burning of fuels and other chemicals. In addition, we do not add products that alter their properties, such as their purity and high whiteness. On the other hand, the application of graphene technology to our products makes them unique and innovative in the market.

Why does Graphenstone® use a high-quality handmade lime?
The lime used in Graphenstone® products is obtained in millenary wood-burning ovens of Arab origin following the traditional method of extraction that gives it exceptional purity and whiteness. This handmade lime is manufactured since the midnineteenth century.
Its cycle is a 100% natural process, from the wood used to feed the oven, through the firing of the limestone, until the final product obtained.
